Owner of Highest-Mileage Tesla Cybertruck Shares Experience After 50K Miles
The owner of what is potentially the highest-mileage Cybertruck in the world recently shared what his experiences have been after 50,000 miles, Inside EVs reports.
Just over 50,000 miles have been racked up on the Cybertruck since March, with its owner taking it as far as the Arctic Ocean.
While the All-Wheel Drive Cybertruck originally had a range estimate of 318 miles on a full charge, it now won’t rise above 309. Additionally, its average efficiency—originally 471 Wh/mile or 2.12 miles/kWh—has dropped to an average of 513 Wh/mile or 1.95 miles/kWh.
However, it’s likely these factors have been impacted by the roof rack, roof tent, and off-road-oriented tires the owner has added to the vehicle.
The primary issue the driver has faced is the misalignment with the motorized tonneau cover: something that has required multiple service appointments to resolve. Service was also needed to remedy the faulty accelerator pedal that was recalled earlier this year.
What’s most notable is that Tesla actually requested the owner of this Cybertruck to swap out its rear motor for the automaker to examine.
Why? Well, apparently, this may be the highest-mileage Cybertruck in existence right now. In an effort to catch a potential issue before it affects anyone, Tesla took it as an opportunity to study the broken-in vehicle. The curious part is why Tesla had interest specifically in the rear motor, which had no defect.
