SBA Releases Latest Wave of HUBZone Maps

July 3, 2017
SBA's HUBZone program is in line with the efforts of both the Administration and Congress to promote economic development and employment growth in distressed areas by providing access to more federal contracting opportunities.

July 3, 2017—The Small Business Association's (SBA) HUBZone program announced the release of the new HUBZone Maps. The new maps contain the latest HUBZone designations and provide a number of enhancements to improve the usability of the maps.

The Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUBZone) program was enacted into law as part of the Small Business Reauthorization Act of 1997. The program falls under the auspices of the U.S. Small Business Administration. The program encourages economic development in historically underutilized business zones—"HUBZones"—through the establishment of preferences.

SBA's HUBZone program is in line with the efforts of both the Administration and Congress to promote economic development and employment growth in distressed areas by providing access to more federal contracting opportunities.

In order to qualify for the HUBZone program, the business must be located in an area designated as a Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Zone and at least 35 percent of its employees must reside in a HUBZone. You may determine if an address or a particular area is designated as a HUBZone by using the HUBZone Maps.
