September 26, 2019—The good folks over at Car Talk decided to compile one take on the 25 ugliest cars in modern automotive history.
The list is a comical roundup of some notably odd stylings in history. This author immediately searched the page for "Aztec" to see if the famously boxy Pontiac SUV was included (it was). That isn't to say these are mechanically unsound. There are some popular models in the list. It's just that, as Car Talk's Craig Fitzgerald put it, they're "ugly enough to grow rust on a plastic shovel."
The list includes newer models like the Nissan Juke as well as classics like the 1961 Plymouth Valiant. One model on the list was named the 2002 Truck of the Year by Motor Trend.
