A video series launched by the Auto Care Association has spotlighted the original co-sponsors of the REPAIR Act and their reasons for supporting the bill.
Lead REPAIR Act sponsor Rep. Neal Dunn (R-FL) was joined by three original co-sponsors of the bill: Reps. Marie Gluesenkamp-Perez (D-WA), Warren Davidson (R-OH), and Brendan Boyle (D-PA).
The four lawmakers each shared their motivations for supporting the REPAIR Act, which overall expressed a focus on consumer choice, protecting small businesses, and providing affordable options for drivers.
“What we find is that, when we want to get simple repairs done to our car, we are literally tied to the original manufacturer…then it becomes much more expensive and a much lengthier process,” said Dunn. “Once you buy a car, it should be yours and yours to fix.”
A video of each of the representatives’ statements can be found on the Auto Care Association’s YouTube channel.
