The program in Chipley, Florida will teach students about finance, technical and product skills, and environmental issues in the repair industry.

The growing demand for automotive technicians has prompted Florida Panhandle Technical College to revamp its Automotive Service Program, reports Foster Folly News.

Located in Chipley, Florida, the school has refined its program to now offer a basic introduction to automotive service, followed by a more in-depth journey to mastering the trade.

A video recently released for the Automotive Service Program–created by a student in the school’s Television Production Technology Program–outlines topics students will learn about to include finance, technical and product skills, and environmental issues.

Students in the program will be trained to both perform and explain the diagnosis, service, and repair of a variety of tasks, with hands-on work consisting of brakes, suspension, steering, electrical, engine, transmission, and air conditioning.

Florida Panhandle Technical College is currently offering tours of the program.
