An auto repair shop in Tulsa, Oklahoma, has partnered with Hub Garage to help single mothers in need access repairs for their vehicles, News 9 reports.
The Hub Garage started three years ago and partners with repair shops nationwide to cover repair costs. The organization has helped around 800 single mothers across the U.S.
The organization travels to each shop in a bright-colored Volkswagen, which is covered in coffee cups “to remind folks that for the cost of a cup of coffee, we can help single moms with car repair,” explained the owner of Christian Brothers Automotive in Tulsa Hills, Russ Knight.
With the help of the Hub Garage, Knight has called on local churches and nonprofits to point anyone in need toward his shop to receive help. Customers in the shop are offered a $30 discount on their bill if they donate $15 to the cause.
The Hub Garage’s coffee car will be heading to Georgia next, but Knight plans to continue working with the Hub Garage.
“We know how important a car is to the livelihood of somebody getting to work, taking kids, and all those things, so we're trying to just be able to come alongside and help,” said Knight.
