Stellantis Looks to Cash In on Connected Vehicle Data

The automaker hopes to have 34 million connected cars by 2030 that can provide data-based revenue.

Jan. 9, 2023— Stellantis announced the launch of a business product called Mobilisights designed to cash in on user vehicle data. 

Stellantis hopes to build its data-as-a-service model using consumer data from its connected vehicles to enable it to license products, apps and services. Mobilisights products could then be sold to public and private companies, as well as educational institutions, according to Stellantis. 

The automaker intends to invest more than $33.7 billion in software, EVs and engineers through 2025, stated the Yahoo! News report

The company says regarding privacy concerns that both it and its partners will operate “within a very strict data governance and privacy policy” and only share personal customer data with consent.
