March 1, 2021—A free car repair event, designed to help the fight against racial injustices by law enforcement, has been announced for March 13 in Ypsilanti, Mich., mlive.com reported.

It’s the fifth in a series of Pull Over Prevention Clinics conducted since last August, when the Huron Valley Democratic Socialists of America, the Mutual Aid Network of Ypsilanti and Peace House Ypsilanti combined as a response to institutional racism and mass unemployment or underemployment.

The clinics provide free repairs of broken brake lights, headlights, license plate lights, other minor automotive issues and on-site consultation for other maintenance and repair concerns. The goal is to avoid those issues which can lead to traffic stops by police, according to the report.

The event will be held at Masjid Ibrahim, the Islamic Association of Ypsilanti.
