Nissan And Kia Announce Major Recalls

March 11, 2021
The recalls will affect more than 1.2 million vehicles.

March 11, 2021—Nissan and Kia both issued recalls on Tuesday, which will impact more than 1.2 million vehicles, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Nissan is recalling 854,000 Sentra’s because of a brake light issue that is causing the light not to turn on when the driver presses the pedal. Nissan’s issue is occurring in Sentra’s between the 2016 to 2019 model years. The company says they are not aware of any crashes or injuries related to the problem.

Kia is recalling 380,000 Sportage SUVs between the model years 2017 and 2021 and Cadenza sedans between 2017 and 2019 for an engine compartment issue that is causing fires. Kia is telling owners of these vehicles to park them outdoors due to the risk.

Both manufacturers plan to notify owners in April.
