Shop Fire Causes $1M in Damages

Around 100,000 gallons of water were needed to extinguish a fire at Mr. J’s Motors, a repair shop in Lake Villa, Ill.

Feb. 2, 2022—Around 100,000 gallons of water were needed to extinguish a fire at Mr. J’s Motors, a repair shop in Lake Villa, Ill., the Lake & McHenry County Scanner reported.

The city’s fire department chief told the outlet the damage to the shop is estimated at approximately $1 million and that the structure was a “total loss.”

The cause of the fire is not yet known. It took nearly four hours to bring the fire under control and firefighters were still on hand for another three hours before leaving the scene.
