Feb. 15, 2022—Elon Musk called the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration the “fun police” after Tesla was forced to issue its 11th recall in under four months, Bloomberg reported.

The comment came after Tesla recalled and shut off Boombox, a feature which enabled people to play sounds through an external speaker of their vehicle.

“The fun police made us do it (sigh),” Musk said on Twitter, replying to a tweet asking why the feature was recalled.

NHTSA’s actions suggest regulatory pressure is rising on technology that Musk has said played a critical role in making Tesla the world’s most valuable automaker., the report said.
