July 27, 2022—Ohio repair shops are voicing frustrations over the persistently long wait times impacting the aftermarket.
According to WTOL 11, parts shortages and the delays that those shortages create can be felt in dealerships and repair shops alike.
Tyler Tansel is a dealer in the Toledo area, and he told WTOL 11 that customers are tapping their feet waiting for parts to come in on cars that they are actively already making payments for. The delays sometimes mean that those customers can't drive their vehicles for months.
"Last year, I thought by this summer we should fine," Tansel said in the article. "Unfortunately, the light at the end of the tunnel just never comes."
Steve Taylor of the Taylor Automotive Family told WTOL 11 that wait times and delays are compounded by the fact that there is also a labor shortage going on.
"It's been difficult with technicians," Taylor said in the article. "They're definitely in demand, skilled labor. Technicians across the country are in demand, not just locally in Toledo. A good technician is worth its weight in gold."
