Out of Your Comfort Zone

The opportunities, revelations and improvements that can only come from difficult times. 

I’m a process-oriented person, like I’m sure many of you are. And in Ratchet+Wrench every month, that’s an important element to nearly every single story. To be successful, to sustain success, what you do has to be repeatable. You create strategies and systems that allow you to overcome any challenges and bottlenecks you foresee. 

That last word is the key, because, now, what do you do when you run into an obstacle you never imagined facing, like, say, a global pandemic? 

 That question has run through my mind quite a lot in the past several weeks of hunkering down in my basement workroom that, amid quarantine, has become a makeshift office. Our “normal lives” have been turned upside down. Many of our businesses, markets, and communities have been completely disrupted. These are surreal times. The present state of our lives didn’t seem fathomable a few months ago.

But here we are; what are we going to do about it?

When we’re faced with new and unique challenges that we weren’t prepared for, I think we only have one option: to improve.

And as we all deal with the myriad challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, we’re more focused than ever on helping you and your teams during this stressful and chaotic time. 

We know you have concerns. We know many of you are reeling from the uncertainty. And we know there is no SOP or playbook to follow in a situation like this. That’s why we’re committed to helping you through it.
