April 5, 2016—The Equipment and Tool Institute (ETI) announced Monday that Rick Matz has joined the organization as technical manager.
Matz will help manage the ETI TEK-NET Library, helping member companies understand the library and data in it. He will also be responsible for developing and gathering technical information for the Institute’s publications, coordinating meeting activities, and serving as an ETI representative to other organizations and associations.
“Rick will bring us additional technical resources with his extensive background in automotive communications. His recent experience with our expanding telematics space is a big plus for our membership. With Rick’s addition, ETI will be much better outfitted for the challenges ahead,” ETI executive manager Greg Potter said.
Previously, Matz worked at General Motors on a concept car that realized the first whole vehicle high-speed bus and helped write the engine controller software for the original Dodge Viper engine. Recently, he moved into telematics and connected vehicles, especially in aftermarket auto insurance applications.
