The 2022 report includes independent survey data from almost 300 auto repair shop owners and managers across Canada and the United States. Topics covered in the report range from the sales impact of COVID-19 to shop profiles and financials, the technician shortage and more. The report also includes commentary from automotive associations and shop experts.
Some key takeaways from the survey data featured in the report include:
- Over 70% of shops reported a higher revenue in 2021 compared to 2019
- 64% of shop owners said that they plan to retire over the next decade
- 73% of repair shops plan on hiring at least one new technician over the next 12 months
