Auto Care Association, ASE Name World Class Technicians of 2025

The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence and the Auto Care Association announced the latest recipients of the World Class Technician Award in a press release yesterday.

The title is annually awarded to technicians who have earned ASE certifications in 22 specific areas during the previous calendar year. Of the one million techs in the U.S., over 250,000 hold an ASE certification, and just 2,375 hold a World Class Technician title.

ASE and ACA surveyed this year’s ASE World Class Technician award recipients to learn about their career journeys, what motivated them to pursue the goal of ASE World Class Technician, and what achieving this status means to them in their own words.
 
“Being a World Class Technician is important to me for what it represents–for being recognized by ASE and the Auto Care Association as among the top ‘World Class’ professionals in the automotive industry. This program was an excellent opportunity for me to test my knowledge and troubleshooting skills that I have acquired through training and previous work experience. An achievement truly worth the investment,” said David R. Jenkins of Prince William Water Fleet Maintenance in Woodbridge, Virginia.
 
“Becoming an automotive technician was my third career. Starting in the industry at 35 meant I did not have the same experience as those who began as teenagers. Achieving World Class Technician status gave me the confidence to pursue my goals and allowed me to compensate for my experience with proven expertise. This certification challenges you to develop a deep and broad understanding—spanning from the fundamentals of the earliest cars to the cutting edge of future transportation engineering. I loved gaining that knowledge and applying it every day,” said Jonas Singer of Metro Motors in Washington, D.C.
