North Carolina Community Raises over $100K for Automotive Training Programs
Cape Fear Community College of Wilmington, North Carolina, successfully rallied the community to raise over $100,000 for its automotive training programs, reports WECT News.
CFCC held a fundraiser on Nov. 14 in an effort to fundraise for students within its Automotive System Technology, Automotive Customizing Technology, and Collision Repair and Refinishing programs.
The programs offer hands-on training in advanced vehicle systems, as well as customization techniques and collision repair.
Community members, industry leaders, and automotive enthusiasts were all present at the event to help provide CFCC’s automotive students with tools, equipment, and scholarships.
Following the event, the school announced it had managed to fundraise a total of $113,500 for its students seeking a career in the automotive trade.
“This incredible support demonstrates our region’s value in developing a skilled workforce and the importance of helping students achieve their career goals,” said CFCC President Jim Morton. “These funds will impact the lives of our students and the industries they serve.”
