The awards recognize one individual and companies of various sizes for efforts made in education and training.

The Auto Care Association recently named the winners of its Excellence in Education awards, according to a press release.

Awarded annually, the awards were presented this year during ACA’s Fall Leadership Days event in Baltimore, Maryland.

2024 Mort Schwartz Excellence in Education Award Winner

The Mort Schwartz Excellence in Education Award is given to an individual who has shown great commitment to promoting education in the automotive industry. This year’s winner was Jillian Weishaar, manager of education and diversity and inclusion at Parts Authority.

Having worked in the corporate retail sector for more than 20 years, Weishaar is an award-winning education manager who joined Parts Authority in 2020 to take on the newly-established role of manager over education and diversity and inclusion.

In just 2023, Weishaar has overseen 46,000 hours of training being carried out through learning management systems, live virtual sessions, and in-person training. She is also an active member of Auto Care Association's Education Committee.

2024 Auto Care Education Award Winners

The Auto Care Education Awards are awarded to a company in three different size categories: small, mid-size, and large companies.

Winning in the small company category was Roberston Automotive, a repair shop in Tyler, Texas that’s been in business since 1992. Fully staffed with ASE trained and certified techs, the shop offers after-hours classes, lunch-and-learns with vendors, and online training through Group Training Academy or Automotive Training Group. All of its technicians are required to complete a certain amount of training each quarter.

The mid-size company winner was Mevotech, for its extensive education programs offered to employees including MevoUniversity, the LEAD Program, the Next Generation Program, and “UnstoppabElle.”

Additionally, Mevotech offers training to those outside its organization through its Mevotech Training Portal, its YouTube channel, and its mobile classroom program MevoMobile.

Automotive Parts Headquarters, Inc. was named the winner in the large company category, offering customized training programs that includes product training, heavy-duty training, manager 101 training program, and a monthly training video.

The company provides training both virtual and hands-on training, and each year holds conferences online and in-person for leaders in its organization.
