BendPak has announced the upcoming release of Octa-Flex: an eight-armed car lift prototype that will be unveiled at this year’s NADA Expo, according to a press release.
The patent-pending concept is a two-post lift design, equipped with two sets of triple-telescoping swing arms, as well as integrated lift-assist arms. All eight of the telescoping lift arms are fully adjustable.
With the device’s primary lift elevating the vehicle, the Octa-Flex lift-assist arms may be used to handle heavy vehicle parts, such as EV battery packs, drivetrains, tires, and wheel assemblies.
When the lift-assist arms are not in use, they can be moved up out of the way and the lift can function as a standard two-post device. Using a clear-floor design, the Octa-Flex allows for open floor space to move toolboxes, transmission jacks, and other equipment underneath elevated vehicles.
BendPak will release further updates for the Octa-Flex in the coming months, with a global launch slated for the fall of 2024. Until then, there will be an opportunity to view a prototype of the device at NADA Expo booth 4569W in Las Vegas, Nevada, Feb. 2-4, 2024.
“Octa-Flex lift-assist arms act like that second set of hands you wish you had when you need to remove a 1,200-pound EV battery or wrestle 100-pound wheels and tires off a truck,” described BendPak President and CEO Jeff Kritzer. “Now you don’t have to ‘put your back into it’ or grab a buddy. Our Octa-Flex lifts will help technicians get more work done with less physical effort and strain.”
