Sept. 14, 2020—In response to requests from independent repair facilities from across the country, the Midwest Auto Care Alliance (MWACA) will officially begin accepting virtual members beyond their original six state territory effective immediately, according to a press release.
According to the release, MWACA had initially offered membership within Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Arkansas, but is expanding its reach to further states.
Tim Davison, MWACA president and owner of Chumbley's Auto Care in Indianola, Iowa, says the change in membership comes as a result of numerous inquiries from shops who don't have training and chapter meetings locally.
Membership benefits include auto parts rebate programs, health insurance, early VISION registration, free ACT Auto Staffing account, and a print subscription to the association’s quarterly publication, MWACA Magazine. In addition to this, virtual members will also have access to the MWACA Training Portal, free online training provided through the MWACA eXchange events, and other virtual training and roundtables for members only.
MWACA’s leadership voted unanimously for the expansion at a recent MWACA Leadership Summit on Aug. 29.
