Ohio Repair Shop Gifts Reliable Vehicle for Christmas Giveaway
An Ohio repair shop recently celebrated the holiday season by helping a local driver in need, reports The Beacon.
When Port Clinton Auto Repair owners Kim and Lisa Smith were looking for a recipient of their Christmas Auto Repair Giveaway, Lisa called social service organizations and found Cadance Lowe through the GrandLove program at the Ottawa County Family Advocacy Center, an organization that supports grandparents raising their grandchildren.
Lowe, who works as a cook in a local upscale restaurant, will be starting classes to gain an esthetician’s license this winter. Lisa said they chose Lowe because of the work she’s doing to become independent at a young age.
“Her car is not travel-worthy, so we have our team lined up to fix it. We’re going to check the whole thing out,” said Lisa.
On Dec. 17, Lowe came to Port Clinton Auto Repair to get an estimate on the issues she was having with her car, just to learn it would all be repaired for free.
“This is awesome,” said Lowe. “I was so surprised.”
Lowe now has safe, reliable transportation, which GrandLove Program Coordinator Judy Peters said Port Clinton Auto Repair made possible.
“GrandLove helps people connect with the resources they need,” Peters said. “I knew Port Clinton Auto Repair would offer good service.”
