Motional, which is backed by Hyundai, just received permission to operate its autonomous vehicles on Las Vegas roadways.
Nov. 18, 2020—The state of Nevada has given Motional, a self-driving car operator, permission to launch a test fleet of level four autonomous vehicles on Las Vegas roads.
Motional, which is backed by Hyundai and Aptiv, says it will launch a fleet in the coming months—sans safety driver, reports The Verge.
Motional is not the first AV company to receive permission to test on public roads. In California, companies like Waymo and Cruise have also been given the green light and await deployment.
