Jan. 28, 2021—An auto repair shop in Minnesota is making the move to solar energy, the Osseo-Maple Grove Press reports.
Matt Sederstrom, owner of two auto repair franchises, including Honest-1 in Maple Grove, Minn., plans to install a 178 rooftop panels across all of his locations.
Sederstrom expects to save over $230,000 in energy expenses over the warrantied life of the solar array at his Maple Grove facility.
By producing power through the on-site with solar panels, Sederstrom’s auto shops will reduce the amount they need to purchase from the utility company, freeing up capital to invest in other parts of the business.
“It’s an environmentally and economically viable option,” he told the outlet. “Plus, we wanted to take control of our utility bills and eliminate rate increases.”
