Aug. 21, 2013—ClearMechanic, a provider of mobile solutions for automotive service centers, recently launched the industry’s first multi-point inspection program designed for smartphones.
The mobile application, ClearMechanic Plus, allows service centers to perform vehicle inspections and view inspection forms through email, text messages, websites or print-outs. The application is currently available for Apple and Android devices.
“Multi-point inspections have been a part of the automotive landscape for the better part of two decades and have mostly existed in a static paper format,” said Ken Hite, vice president of sales and marketing for ClearMechanic. “ClearMechanic Plus is an easy, mobile and transparent multi-point inspection program that addresses the pain felt by technicians and consumers in the automotive repair process.”
“Today’s automotive repair industry continues to struggle due to consumer skepticism and lack of trust,” said Ricardo Gárate, long-time international dealership owner and president of ClearMechanic Latino. “The lack of trust can be traced to consumers’ inability to understand service recommendations, consumers’ difficulty in reading and trusting current multi-point inspection forms and consumer perception of over-selling.”
