GENEVI Alliance and JASPAR Partner to Align In-Vehicle Infotainment Systems Standards
May 23, 2013
May 23, 2013—The GENEVI Alliance, an automotive electronics industry association that works toward the development of an open in-vehicle infotainment reference platform, and Japan Automotive Software Platform and Architecture (JASPAR) have entered into a liaison agreement to align networking software requirements for in-vehicle infotainment systems by year-end.
GENEVI says the agreement, which is specific to Bluetooth and Ethernet in-vehicle infotainment systems, will help drive the collaboration of defined standards for these two communications technologies.
"The collaboration between JASPAR and GENIVI is a prime example of another technical relationship event that will ease integration of wired and wireless communications for next generation infotainment systems," said Matt Jones, vice president, GENIVI Alliance.
