Jan. 8, 2014—Standard Motor Products (SMP) announced on Monday that it won five awards from the Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance during the annual shareholders’ winter meeting on Dec. 7-12.
SMP was recognized for its outstanding training support and outstanding shipping performance.
“I’d like to thank the Alliance shareholders for recognizing SMP’s achievement for the best training and shipping performance in 2013,” said Ken Wendling, vice president of warehouse distribution sales at SMP.
SMP received the “Outstanding Training Support” award for the 12th time. The company trained over 6,500 technicians and front-counter workers at more than 200 training events in the U.S. and Canada for the Alliance in 2013.
In addition to these face-to-face seminars, SMP provided training through its online webinar-based training program.
In the “Outstanding Shipping Performance” category, awards are given to suppliers with an average fill rate of 95 percent or greater for the entire year. SMP received four plaques in this area during the awards banquet for its Standard Engine Management, Parts Master Wire & Cable, Four Seasons Temperature Control, and Original Engine Management product lines.
