Nov. 13, 2013—Hunter Engineering Company announced Tuesday that it has released three new products: a new generation of Swing-Arm tire changers, a fully automatic tire changer, and a new alignment system.
The rigid Swing-Arm tire changers feature an easy-to-use adjustable tabletop that provides a 10- to 26-inch clamping range. All four tabletop jaws adjust simultaneously and hi-grip jaw covers add mounting torque and protect the wheels. The tire changers are available with a 110V or 220V motor that the company says is faster than popular alternatives. The models are the heaviest in their class, allowing more stiffness to handle tough jobs.
Hunter Engineering’s new fully automatic tire changer, the Revolution, is the first to be designed and built in the U.S. in many years and eliminates the need for a skilled operator and keeps the technician at a safe distance from the machine. The Revolution’s touchscreen interface indicates the operator’s current step, monitors progress throughout the procedure and stores 15 helpful on-board videos.
A demonstration of the Revolution can be seen on Hunter’s YouTube channel.
Hunter’s improved Winalign HD Alignment System had an option for four or six DSP700T heavy-duty alignment sensors, helping technicians to diagnose tire wear conditions in four minutes (Hunter’s previous model took approximately 12 minutes). The wireless sensors, protected by by a durable, rubberized shell, are all compensated at the same time by Hunter’s unique pusher. Setup time and equipment wear have also been reduced with the reengineered process.
Complementary, on-site demonstrations of the products are available by contacting a local Hunter representative at hunter.com/demos.
