Feb. 9, 2023–USA Today has reported that over 65,000 vehicles have been recalled due to issues related to airbags, fires, and losses of power reported to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. A list compiled by WPXI shows all the models that have been affected.
Hyundai has recalled 326 of their new plug-in hybrid model of Santa Fes due to an issue with the fuel tank, with Kia having the same issue as well, recalling 34 Sorentos.
Kia has also recalled 31,943 of their 2023 Telluride SUVs due to an “improperly manufactured” wire harness resulting in a side airbag that may keep them from deploying in a crash, according to NHTSA filings.
Certain 2023 Jaguar Land Rover F-Pace vehicles are being recalled due to “the engine cam carrier oil channel” being blocked, possibly leading to “an oil leak and potentially a fire.” NHTSA filings say that this will affect 6,644 vehicles.
BMW has recalled some 2022-2023 i4 eDrive40 and iX xDrive50 electric vehicles. The NHTSA has said that due to “the artificial sound generator control unit” experiencing “a fault” during vehicle start-up, a failure “to generate the external pedestrian warning sound” occurs.
20,904 of Volkswagon’s 2021 electric ID4 vehicles have been recalled because of “issues with a battery management control module.”
Most recently, the NHSTA issued a “Do Not Drive” warning for “various 2001-2003 model year Honda Accord, Civic, CR-V and Odyssey, Pilot and Acura 3.2CL and 3.2 TL vehicles” that have “unrepaired Takata airbag inflators.”
