GM To Recall Latest Van And Truck Models

Jan. 7, 2013

Jan. 7, 2013—Due to a potential steering column malfunction, General Motors is recalling 69,000 full-sized van and truck models from 2013, according to a Wall Street Journal report.

In a document with the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the company said that the effected vehicles had the potential to roll away after being parked, because of possible park lock cable fractures.

GM said that the majority of recalled vehicles are either on their way to or still on dealer lots, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Recalled models include the Cadillac Escalade, Escalade EXT and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Express vans, Silverado and Avalanche pickup trucks, Tahoe and Suburban sport utility vehicles; as well as GMC Savanna vans, GMC pickup trucks, and Yukon and Yukon XL models.
