July 2, 2018—The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of Minnesota (AASP-MN) hosted a statewide fundraiser that sold over 2,300 tickets and raised more than $42,000 for MNCARS.
Last week, AASP-MN gave away a motorcycle and bike trailer in a statewide raffle to raise fund for Minnesota Careers in Automotive Repair and Service (MNCARS).
Dan Gilley, director of RLO Training, was the winner of the bike, which was awarded during a lunchtime reception at the Veit Automotive Foundation Museum in Buffalo, Minn. The event, which also provided an exciting tour of collectible cars and automotive memorabilia, was open to anyone who purchased a ticket.
“The number-one challenge facing the industry is the availability of a future workforce. MNCARS is all about trying to address that issue and attract young people into our college programs and ultimately into industry jobs,” said Judell Anderson, AASP-MN executive director. “We had an army of volunteers selling these tickets for the motorcycle raffle. Many active AASP-MN committee members were out on the street selling them to industry vendors and customers. It was really a group effort.”
