BMW Diesel Engine Recall Expands

With a concern that faulty parts can cause a fire risk, BMW has expanded its diesel car recall.

Dec. 4, 2019—BMW has extended its diesel car recall, according to Motoring ResearchThe recall campaign extended to 1.6 million cars by October 2018, with afected cars in Europe and Asia.

In some diesel cars, glycol leakage from the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler can occur. In combination with soot deposits and high temperatures, this might result in smouldering particles.

The recall has been expanded by 232,000 vehicles worldwide.
