Nov. 14, 2018—Creative Safety Supply, Oregon’s retailer of industrial safety and lean manufacturing products, has announced the 2019 Winter Scholarship competition. For the past two years, Creative Safety’s scholarship program has awarded a $1,000 scholarship to a student with a good academic record who is enrolled in a university, college, or technical program in the United States twice a year: once in the fall, and once in the spring.
The scholarship funds will be sent to the student’s school so they can be used for educational expenses during the 2019 spring semester.
Creative Safety Supply has worked hard to earn its top-notch record for providing high-quality safety supply and comprehensive, free safety and Lean resources on topics like Pipe Marking and Six Sigma. The company wanted to help others receive the education needed to fulfill their dreams, so CSS created the scholarship program. Having hosted this competition since 2016, Creative Safety Supply takes great joy in learning about the amazing things students are striving toward.
“Learning just how ambitious and fearless people can be and seeing all of the vast, different points of view in the world has been a great benefit of giving these scholarships,” Nick Jordan, partner at Creative Safety Supply, said. “Being able to help creative people achieve their professional and educational goals is a really good feeling.”
To be eligible for Creative Safety Supply’s scholarship, students must be U.S. citizens, be enrolled in an accredited institution of higher education and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. As part of their applications, students must also answer two short essay questions, including a question about how creative thinking has helped them achieve academic or personal success.
Creative Safety Supply believes in the importance of using creative thinking to solve workplace safety challenges and wants to foster this type of thinking and learning in the next generation of students who will enter the workforce and shape the future of industry.
The scholarship application deadline is Dec.15, 2018. The winner will be notified by the end of January 2019.
