Jan. 4, 2019—R&R Custom Wheels and Tires, of Springfield, Mo., donated food to Victory Mission, a homeless charity at the start of the new year, Ozarks First reports. Members of the sales team encouraged customers to bring in canned goods as a promotion disguise and later donated to the charity.
"It's quite a bit. I'd say each one is probably two hundred pounds apiece,” Jacob Walden of R&R Custom Wheels and Tires said to Ozarks First. “I mean I lift each one up one handed but I'm pretty strong. I'm just kidding it took three guys to get one in the back of our truck."
Mission director Jason Hynson shared his gratitude to Ozarks First.
"This is the biggest donation we've gotten this year," Hynson said to Ozarks First. "They decided to do it and they called us because it's about that partnership. So, it's nice to have people calling us and saying 'We want to help. How can we help?'
According to the station, the tire shop is planning another donation.
"We even have people donating food without needing a set of tires," Walden said to Ozarks First.
