Owners Gregg and Christina Caldwell have steadily grown their shop over the years while staying active in the community. Gregg, a former marine, is an active owner who comes in every day. He is a master mechanic, though he doesn’t turn wrenches anymore. The couple keeps the shop active in the community. G&C gets involved in parades and events, participates in Toys for Tots during the holidays, and supports first responders.
G&C Tire & Auto Service has a retired New York City fire truck and a 5 ton military transport vehicle owned and operated by Caldwell. They both feature G&C logos and are used for community events, parades and more. The fire truck has a 100 foot ladder that Caldwell will stand on top of and throw toys and tokens to children during events. Caldwell
Loaner vehicles at G&C aren’t typical compact sedans. The shop recognized that customers might need to use the loaner for a number of different things while their car is in the shop, so customers have the option to choose a loaner truck or SUV instead of a compact car.
The customer waiting area has available computers for customers to use, as well as a charging station for mobile devices. A large poster board is decorated with photos and information of community events that G&C has been involved with. It is routinely updated as G&C participates with the community.
Another waiting area is a themed beach room decorated with beach chairs and a mural wall of a beach painted by a local artist.
When the weather gets cold, the shop is heated by an eco-friendly waste oil heater that doesn’t pollute. They also use LED lights which are brighter and more energy efficient.
