July 14, 2016—The Automotive Service Association (ASA) announced Wednesday that it will hold a webinar on the current state of telematics and new-technology policy on Wednesday, July 27. The session will be hosted by ASA’s Washington, D.C., representative Robert L. Redding Jr.
Participants in the webinar will hear from aftermarket representatives, vehicle manufacturers and ASA leadership about the implications of policy developments for repair professionals. Webinar participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions of the panelists during the session.
Telematics refers to the connected car and the coming autonomous car. It includes software used in instrumentation, backup sensors, adaptive cruise control, cameras, wireless communications systems and more. Repair shops who wish to remain competitive will have to invest in new equipment and training, as well as educate themselves on legislative policy surrounding these technologies.
