April 5, 2013—Advance Auto Parts Inc., has appointed George Sherman as president, the company announced this week.
In his role as president, Sherman will be responsible for growing commercial and driving excellence, as well as leading the commercial sales, field operations, store operations support, merchandising, marketing, supply chain and e-commerce teams.
Sherman most recently served as senior vice president of Best Buy Services.
Advance Auto Parts has also announced a number of other leadership changes.
Charles Tyson, who currently serves as senior vice president of merchandising and marketing, has been promoted to executive vice president of merchandising, marketing and supply chain.
Autopart International President Jim Durkin will assume the new role of senior vice president of commercial business and oversee Advance Auto Part’s commercial sales team and commercial marketing.
Tammy Finley, who most recently served as vice president of employment counsel and government affairs, has been promoted to the role of senior vice president of human resources.
Additionally, the roles of COO, held by Kevin Freeland, and senior vice president of commercial sales and marketing, held by Donna Broome, have been eliminated.
