June 7, 2013—Ford Motor Company recently recognized Cooper Standard, a supplier of automotive sealing, fuel and brake and fluid transfer systems with its Go Further award for Cooper Standard’s contributions to the Evonik Industries manufacturing plant fire recovery, emergency resourcing actions, and plant and equipment launch support.
Immediately following the March 2012 fire, Cooper Standard assembled a team of sales, engineering, purchasing, quality, logistics and operations resources to work with customers, suppliers and industry peers to identify and implement solutions to avoid interruptions in vehicle production.
"Our global team showed tremendous dedication, customer focus and creativity during the crisis," said Jeffrey Edwards, chairman and CEO of Cooper Standard. "We are very proud to receive this award on behalf of the Cooper Standard employees who worked around the clock to minimize the impact of this challenging event."
Cooper Standard says the team was able to quickly track alternative materials, gain necessary approvals, and meet all of its customers’ needs following the event.
"We want to recognize those suppliers who have demonstrated excellence despite the unforeseen challenges that have happened over the past year," said Mark Fields, CEO of Ford. "Thanks to your unwavering commitment, we are closer than ever to reaching our goal of delivering profitable growth for all."
