Over 114K Letters and Counting Sent to Congress Urging Action on REPAIR Act
Following a push to send letters to Congress asking for the advancement of the REPAIR Act, the Auto Care Association has provided an update on the movement’s success.
As of this week, industry advocates and citizens have sent more than 114,000 letters to Congress urging for action on the REPAIR Act. Participation has been seen across all 50 states, with significant action being taken by constituents in California, Washington, Texas, New York, and Florida.
The news speaks to the success of recent initiatives launched by ACA, such as its “#RighttoRepair, RIGHT NOW” social media campaign. Until Congress makes progress on passing the REPAIR Act, ACA is still encouraging anyone who hasn’t yet to send a letter to Congress.
“These numbers highlight the urgent need for Congress to act,” stated ACA President and CEO Bill Hanvey. “The current situation creates a lopsided market where large manufacturers hold all the power, and consumers and independent shops are left at a disadvantage. Ensuring Right to Repair is not just good for consumers—it's vital for the health of our economy.”
