National SkillsUSA Competition Sees Auto Students of ASE-Accredited Programs Earn Medals
Students from ASE-accredited programs were among some of the winners at the recent SkillsUSA competition last month in Atlanta, Georgia, according to a press release.
Earning a silver medal in the high school segment of the automotive maintenance and light repair category was A.J. Peters, a student at Manatee Tech College in Bradenton, Florida.
Also at the high school level in the automotive service technology category was William Johnson, a student from Warren Occupational Tech Center of Lakewood, Colorado, who earned a gold medal.
The automotive service technology category saw more students from ASE-accredited programs at the college level. Jacob McEachin of Macomb Community College in Warren, Michigan, earned a gold medal, and Issac Bradstreet of Salt Lake Community College in Salt Lake City, Utah earned a bronze medal.
“It's truly gratifying to see how well students from ASE-accredited automotive, collision and truck/diesel programs performed in the recent SkillsUSA competition,” said ASE Education Foundation President Mike Coley. “These students have acquired skills essential for entering the workforce as entry-level technicians, highlighting them as the future of the industry.”
