ASE Chairman Honored for Excellence in Education

The award celebrates the chairman's for his advocacy of training and education in the automotive industry.

Jan. 11,2021—The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence's (ASE) outgoing chairman of the board, Bobby Bassett, has been honored with the Art Fisher Excellence in Education Award from the Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association (AWDA), according to the press release. 

The award celebrates an aftermarket company or individual that demonstrates outstanding commitment to education and training, either within their organization or throughout the industry. 

“Bobby has a long history of volunteering his time and expertise as an advocate for training and education in the automotive industry. He is a well-known figure to high school and community college automotive programs across the country,” says Tim Zilke, ASE president and CEO.

Bassett, retired as North American national training manager for Gates Corporation earlier this year and spent 22 years overseeing customer training
in both the automotive and heavy-duty markets for Gates. He was previously the administrator of Gates’ “Tools for Schools” and Performance Center eLearning platforms.
