Students in an Arizona high school automotive program were surprised with a fresh set of tools to help kick-start their careers.
June 7, 2021—A group of high school seniors got a surprise graduation gift from their local NAPA Auto Parts dealer, the Arizona Daily Sun reported. Nine students enrolled in Flagstaff High School and Coconino High School’s automotive program in Arizona received a fresh set of tools from Grand Canyon Auto Supply to help kick-start their careers. “I think NAPA really wanted to show their appreciation for the kids—for sticking in there, through these tough times of COVID. To keep them interested in the field even if they couldn’t get that hands-on learning,” Brian Locke, auto instructor at Coconino, told the publication. Locke’s students will graduate this semester certified in all nine areas of Automotive Service Excellence.
