Sept. 3, 2021—A Florida repair shop owner has been charged with grand theft after allegedly faking work, ABC Action News reported.
Auto Legends Towing and Repair is accused of spray painting existing converter parts to make them look like they were replaced.
The owner faces a third-degree felony, which could result in fines or prison time if they are found guilty.
“I am glad [the owner’s] been charged. I’m happy about that,``customer Mark Faltynek told the outlet. Faltynek paid Auto Legends $1,150 for two new catalytic converters last summer and is part of the state’s case against the shop.
