GM Delivers Only 26 EVs in Q4

Jan. 7, 2022

The massive battery recall of the Bolt EV and Bolt EUV and paused production was the reason behind the company's worst quarter since 2010.

Jan. 7, 2022—Q4 proved to be challenging for General Motors as its deliveries were down 42.9 percent year-over-year, Inside EVs reported.

Specifically looking at electric vehicle sales, the company struggled mightily. GM delivered in the U.S. only 26 all-electric vehicles (down almost 100 percent year-over-year). The number includes 25 Chevrolet Bolt EV/Bolt EUV and 1 GMC Hummer EV Pickup.

The main reason for that is the massive battery recall of the Bolt EV and Bolt EUV and paused production for much of the quarter.

It is the weakest quarter of sales since the introduction of the Chevrolet Volt in December 2010 when the company handed over 326 cars.
