April 10, 2018—Fiat Chrysler Automobiles US LLC recently reported its March 2018 sales and noted a 14 percent increase compared with sales in March 2017.
Total FCA US sales (216,063 units) were the highest since March 2006, when the company sold nearly 217,000 vehicles. Fleet accounted for 25 percent of overall sales.
Another eye-opening FCA sales statistic: the Jeep brand just reported its best month of total sales ever. Jeep brand total sales spiked 45 percent in March, to 98,382 units. The Jeep Wrangler led the group, as sales for that model increased 70 percent, to 27,829. Additionally, Jeep Cherokee sales increased 63 percent to 23,764 vehicles, which also added up to that model’s best March sales ever.
Chrysler brand total sales rose 15 percent in March, to nearly 20,000 vehicles, compared with the same month a year ago. The Chrysler Pacifica minivan posted a 40 percent sales increase, and the Chrysler 300 increased 25 percent.
Additionally, retail sales for the Ram light duty increased 8 percent. However, overall Ram Truck brand sales decreased 13 percent in March, to 44,878 units, compared to a year prior.
