Sept. 9, 2013—The Automotive Management Institute (AMI) recently announced the winners of two annual scholarships.
The Richard Cossette/Gale Westerlund Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Shellie Andrews, operation’s manager of Dana’s Collision Center in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada.
Andrews has worked in the collision industry for more than 23 years and is currently completing the necessary requirements to earn the AMI’s Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation.
Also, the Arrowhead Automotive Aftermarket “High Octane” Scholarship was awarded to Amanda Clements Mooney, vice president of C & C Automotive in Augusta, Ga.
Mooney has worked in the automotive service industry for 12 years, earning the AMI’s AAM designation in 2010. She is currently working to complete her master’s degree in business from Regents University.
Both recipients receive $1,000 to be applied toward expenses to attend educational sessions and view the latest repair technologies and equipment during the Congress of Automotive Repair and Service (CARS), Oct. 16-18, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
