Auto Repair Shop Owner Arrested for Attempting to Scrap Customers' Vehicles

A New York auto repair shop owner is facing charges after he allegedly closed his auto repair shop and then arranged for a number of his customers’ vehicles to be scrapped without getting their permission.

August 22, 2018—A New York auto repair shop owner is facing charges after he allegedly closed his auto repair shop and then arranged for a number of his customers’ vehicles to be scrapped without getting their permission.

Thomas Bayer, Sr., 47, has been charged with grand larceny.

Ontario County sheriff’s deputies say Bayer ran a business in the town of Phelps. He reportedly closed it and arranged for several vehicles, which belonged to former customers, to be destroyed without getting their consent.

He was remanded to jail without bail and is due back in court at a later date.
