Ryder Recognized as Top Green Supply Chain Partner

As part of its sustainability efforts, the company plans to help pave the way for the adoption of commercial electric vehicles.

July 15, 2019—Ryder System, Inc. providing commercial fleet management, transportation, and supply chain solutions, announced it has been named a Green Supply Chain Partner in the annual Inbound Logistics “G75” special section, according to Business Wire.

The “G75” recognizes 75 companies that demonstrate a commitment to efficiency and sustainability. This is the 11th year Ryder has been honored by the publication.

As part of its sustainability efforts, the company plans to help pave the way for the adoption of commercial electric vehicles in the U.S. Together, with an order of 1,000 medium-duty electric panel vans by Chanje Energy Inc., Ryder and FedEx Corp. executed a truck leasing and preventive maintenance agreement, primarily for Ryder’s ChoiceLease fleet. The purpose-built electric vehicles will be operated by FedEx Express for commercial and residential pick-up and delivery services in the U.S. The fleet is expected to be deployed throughout California over the next two years.
