Cars Can Be Part of a Halloween Costume, Too

One rental company is offering some recognizable vehicles that will set off certain pop culture costume ideas.

Oct. 31, 2019—In case you're feeling like your Ghostbusters costume needs a little something extra, car rental company Turo is offering famous vehicles to complete the look and turn a few heads.

“The car is often an overlooked accessory to truly bring a Halloween costume to life," said Christin DiScipio, a travel trends expert at Turo, in a report by USA Today.

Some options include The Mystery Machine van from "Scooby Doo," a DMC DeLorean similar to the time traveling model in "Back to the Future" and the Cadillac Hearse that was retrofitted as the Ghostbusters' response vehicle (the original was a 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor Futura Duplex). There's also a Mad Max-inspired Ford Falcon.

Turo is a peer-to-peer platform, so private owners in certain cities offer the vehicles up for rent and set the price. It could cost a few hundred dollars, but that could be worth it for the right four-wheeled accessory.
